Yep, it's that time of the year again. JPX gets the day off in order to celebrate the murder of approximately 70,000 people thanks to Little Boy.
I'm so embarrassed.

Except now they call it "Governor's Bay Day" so they can be P.C.
If I remember right, when I was a kid Alabama still celebrated VJ day along with RI. If there's anything to make this more embarrassing for my home state, that's it -- Alabama had the right idea first.
Yes - we are the only state to still "celebrate" this. Embarrassing indeed! And I was wrong, Governor's Bay Day is a different day - they changed the name to "Victory" Day...not so P.C. after all. I think it's just that Rhode Islanders want another day off, they don't care where it comes from.
