It's official, Fantastic Voyage remake will be awful

From darkhorizons, Director Roland Emmerich is readying a remake of the 1966 sci-fi pic "Fantastic Voyage" for 20th Century Fox says Variety.

"Voyage" is about a scientist who is dying of a blood clot. His only chance for survival is for five scientist colleagues to be miniaturized in a ship, and injected into his bloodstream.

The original, directed by Richard Fleischer, starred Raquel Welch and Donald Pleasence. "National Treasure" scribes Marianne and Cormac Wibberley are in talks to write the script of the remake."

[JPX] Let's review what he's directed over the past 15 years;

The Day After Tomorrow (2004)
The Patriot (2000)
Godzilla (1998)
Independence Day (1996)
Stargate (1994)
Universal Soldier (1992)

Sigh.

Sigh indeed. Even though cheesy now, and maybe then, I remember loving the original.

It's pretty awful. But Raquel Welch looks great in a wet suit.

I actually read the novelization before I saw the movie. The novelization was by Isaac Asimov; it was vastly better than what they put onscreen.
