Episode 50

I don't recall anything looking this cool in the actual film
(2011) *1/2

Two ghosthunter teams, one a team of skeptics and the other a team of religious psychic believers go into an abandoned asylum in West Virginia to explore reports of paranormal activity. Once there they realize the haunting is all too real and they are in danger.

Way too much dialog and arguing amongst the living going on here. It took forever to get to the asylum and once they arrive there is like another fifteen minutes worth of interviews and jabbering about the history of the place. The ghosts are lame and very cliché and the investigators are annoying. I watched another film with a similar plot set up that was far superior called Grave Encounters reviewed here by JPX. If you are intrigued by the notion I recommend that one instead, it’s much, much better.

I stopped reading after "Two ghosthunter teams". Actually I kept reading but I stopped caring.

Sounds pretty awful. Bickering? I get enough of that from the 6 and 9 year old. Definitely don't need to be watching it in a movie!

Bickering is the go-to of a hack writer.

Gotta love the review that tells you about another, better movie with the same premise! That's what Horrorthon service is all about.

I saw this one a few months ago - after the first half of non-stop bickering. The chase scene at the end of the film lasts so long, you can't wait for the characters to get caught just so it will all end.

But that picture looks so cool!

Malevolent

2018  ***1/2 It's 1986 for some reason, and a team of paranormal investigators are making a big name for themselves all over Scotland. ...
