Grabbers

****
(2012)
Here is the description from Netflix & IMDB of this movie:
"When an island off the coast of Ireland is invaded by bloodsucking aliens, the heroes discover that getting drunk is the only way to survive."

I thought it sounded like the perfect movie for me to start this year's Thon.  And I have to say - I really enjoyed this flick! In the genre of "comedy/horror" the first half of the movie deals mostly with the horror. It had me jumping and the aliens are freaking nasty/awesome.

The second half was a little more schmaltzy. What with everyone getting drunk and all.  I have to say though - I expected a lot less from this movie based on the description so I was pleasantly surprised at the bad-assery it provided.  I recommend it for biddy's and for when you need something a little lighter fair.  It's streaming on Netflix.

Since I am married to a biddy, I think the odds of seeing this are pretty good. Glad it's 4 stars :)

A biddy-friendly horror comedy streaming on Netflix? Count me in, DCD!

Nice! I seem to remember that plot synopsis, so I must have scrolled past this one on Netflix at some point. Going to have to check it out.

I have seen this on Netflix and between the title and the synopsis it never grabbed me. Glad you went it, sounds like a winner.
