This Is How the (new) Little Rascals Look 20 Years Later
From slashfilm, 22 Vision is a production company that, by their own description, found "a niche of celebrating films by reuniting cast members from our favorite movies." Previously, this meant getting the kids from Problem Child 2 back together on a washing machine, and now the dubious distinction of being named one of "our favorite movies" has been given to Penelope Spheeris's quickly forgotten Little Rascals adaptation. So, the entire Our Gang of 1994 got back together for a whole photo shoot that included this faithful recreation of the original poster, revealing how the cast changed, who became a pageant mom, and who maintained the smug prick look of their youth. Next time The Little Rascals shows up on television somewhere, no longer need you vaguely wonder if one of the kids is freakish looking or dead now. They're fine! The dog is certainly dead, though.

4 Signs DC Comics has no clue how to make superhero movies
More wisdom from Cracked.com. Holy mouse click!
I love DC comics and I think the stories in the DC Animated Universe are some of the best superhero-related screen time one can get. I superduper want their live action movies to be good; it just doesn't look too damn likely.
The success of Guardians is wonderful for a number of reasons, but high on that list is the huge number of possible jabs at DC regarding talking raccoons and trees.

Daily Spider-Man! What!?! Ox is in jail!?! The cops find him passed out drunk and we're hanging at the Parker pad all last week? Ripoff!
And with that, I'm caught back up. I plan to maintain the one-a-day rhythm through this month before the long break for... what's that? What's coming up?
HORRORTHON. The tenth, that's right TENTH Horrorthon since the formation of this blog. Oh yeah.
Now do me a favor and comment on last week's Spider-Bomb below. It's free!
Daily Spider-Bomb! A week of Peter stomping around his apartment!
I hope that's not a digital camera, Pete, lest you corrupt the memory card with your intense rays of smugness.
I think I might have to make a Halloween mask that looks like Peter right now, with the half-mask and stupid lightning bolts all around my head.
Peter's Spider-Sense is honed to detect fluctuations in his media popularity. He must've been bitten by one of those celebrity spiders.
I am so jealous of Peter's hand right now, getting to SLAPT him on the forehead. MJ looks on with concern, because last time he slapped his head for two hours straight.
Lots of big thinking going on at the Parker pad today. Just look at the gestures. Touch your face! Now point!
I'm having a moment of sympathy for MJ right now, watching her feign interest in all this. I guess that's why she's a successful actress.
It's an especially obnoxious Sunday recap when the week was spent pacing the room and chattering, but at least we can now muse about the upside-down sex that goes on in that house.
Labor Day bonus strip! Four days in a row with a "Mary Jane's head in the corner" panel! But they send her off with this sexy couch pose. Man, she's always on that couch!
Box Office
[JPX] The movie I predicted would be a bomb is now the top grossing movie of the year (want to fight about it?).
From ew, Labor Day weekend, 2014: that time when a movie featuring an anthropomorphized raccoon and a talking tree became the highest-grossing release of the year. In its fifth weekend, Guardians of the Galaxy continued to stay in pole position thanks to weak holiday competition, taking in an estimated total of $22.2 million over the four days ($16.5 million for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and bringing its grand domestic take up to $280.5 million. That number would have only made it the fourth highest-grossing movie at the same time in 2013 (after Iron Man 3, Despicable Me 2, and Man of Steel), but in a relatively slow year for blockbusters, it’s more than enough to grab the current brass ring from Captain America: The Winter Soldier. And now that even Marvel’s long-shots are paying off big-time, we can look forward to movies featuring ever-increasingly recondite and niche comic-book characters and storylines. Oh, you thought that Howard the Duck teaser was just a joke?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles continues to polish its shell with $15.7 million over the four-day weekend. That brings its total up to $166.4 million, which is somewhere in the middle of the Paramount toybox: better than G.I. Joe, worse than Transformers. Meanwhile, the YA novel adaptation If I Stay slipped only 41 percent in its second week with $9.3 million for the three-day weekend and an additional $2.3 million on Labor Day.
In third place, the boys in blue saw more green as Let’s Be Cops pocketed an additional $10.6 million. That’s a grand total of $59.7 million since the comedy’s release, which isn’t bad considering it was critically panned, its stars are “those two dudes from New Girl,” and American police forces have recently been having the public-relations goodwill usually afforded to the likes of Pol Pot.
The weekend’s two new releases were easily elbowed aside by summer’s leftovers, leaving them to fight for the scraps of fifth place. The found-footage As Above, So Below ended up rounding out the Top 5 for the four-day weekend with $10.3 million. Pierce Brosnan’s The November Man just barely missed placing, slotting into sixth with $10.2 million. The 30th-anniversary re-release of Ghostbusters scared up $2.2 million in its limited release, averaging $2,806 per theater.

Daily Spider-Man! Doc Ock goes Thok Btok!
I don't know how, but Doc Ock is a PR genius. Even citizens cowering from gunfire have time to spare a smile.
Raise your hand if you're looking forward to the anti-Bugle backlash this is all heading towards. Between this and Iron Jonah, Jameson will be the subject of numerous scathing headlines (the only form of justice in the Daily Spiderverse).
It's my favorite plaid-wearing agent of THE PRESS! You can read his armband from way over here!
Because of your super-manhole powers? You're talking gibberish, Peter.
Risking lives for a few bucks. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN.
Jeez, Pete. Do I hear music swelling? Is the Doc in slo-mo right now?
Otto sure looks indignant in that last panel. I guess nobody really wants Peter Parker around, like anywhere ever.
