Remember that secret toy meeting attended by DCD, Whirlygirl, and JPX?

Dear friends,

Like a fine wine, Charlie's Playhouse is taking its own sweet time to mature. In other words, holy cow, it takes a long time to start a company.

Things are finally falling into place this summer and we plan to launch in September. See below for a peek at our first round of products! (If you don't see them, please set your email program to allow image downloads.) We've also included a hand game for kids that we made up and a link to a new study on biology teachers' beliefs about evolution.

Enjoy your summer, and we'll see you in the fall!

Yay! I was psyched to get this from her too. Pretty damn cool.

Now listen, I like the book learnin' same as the next guy, but this just seems like the lame toy your college professor Aunt/Uncle gets you instead of the Wii game you asked for...

I agree, but I love the shirts! In actuality, the book was the least interesting thing we were shown.

They should have at least given you some free stuff. Did they?

Yeah, Miko's right - those are the kinds of toys that unhappy children would get from the Learning Express while their neighbors were getting the good stuff.

IDK, the big spread out mat thing was kind of cool I thought.

Yes, miko and JSP are both right in that I don't think you'd win any "best relative" award for showing up with it, but it was still neat.

And the shirts were awesome.

The best thing was when JPX said he wouldn't pay more than $17 for it, and based on the questionnaire they gave us to fill out later, they may have plans of selling it for up to $100.

"With this richly illustrated floor mat, you can skip, jump and play with 68 strange ancient creatures spanning 13 geologic time periods."

*Disclaimer- Product description may make toy sound more fun than it actually is. The creatures will NOT skip, jump, nor play with you.

We do not encourage young boys to skip while talking about geologic time periods in school or while playing outside. Doing so may result in an ass kicking by every child in the immediate vincinity. Enjoy!
