From darkhorizons, So I had a chance to speak with screenwriter and director Michael Dougherty (”X2″ and “Superman Returns”) about the current status of his film, “Trick ‘r’ Treat.” As you may recall, back in April Bloody Disgusting announced that Warner Bros. had removed the film from its 2008 schedule for theatrical and home entertainment releases after pushing the film off its original October ‘07 release date.
Well, according to Mike, all is not lost:
“The struggle continues. There’s interest from another distributor so negotiations have begun. Keep your severed fingers crossed!”
I really hope this movie finds distribution - it was one of my most anticipated films of 2007, and I was heartbroken to find out it had been pushed back to 2008… which was nothing compared to the disgust I felt in the pit of my stomach after hearing it had been dropped from distribution altogether!
