This is great! Apparently there was this animated feature called "Delgo," which I didn't see, but which everyone's sardonically referring to in reference to the Avatar trailer. Anyway, somebody did a side-by-side comparison of the two, and they're nearly identical. Take a look!

Wow. Some of those correlations are hilariously... correlative. Especially the floating rocks and luminous dandelion seeds.
The reason you haven't heard of Delgo is that, well, nobody has. I happened to read about it at work in Animation Magazine, which is notorious for sugar-coating their reports on any animation production. That means issues of actual quality of the work are never discussed, it's always glowing terms about people following their visions and the like.
Delgo was no exception. Two guys with a production company slaved on this project for ten years, "chasing their dreams" to see it through. The result? From imdb's Delgo trivia page:
"Had the lowest per-theater gross on its opening weekend of any wide release in American film history."
Ouch. No, not ouch. Ooooowwwwwwwww.
Right...and some jerk at the studio was busy telling James Cameron, "Delgo's failure is GOOD NEWS for you and Avatar!"
Unbelievable!
