Christopher Nolan Taking Over Justice League, And Bringing Bale Back As Batman?
From cinemablend, we've gotten really worried about the Justice League movie lately, with news that Warner Bros. had thrown out Will Beall's script for the film, and a lot of us worried the movie-- like George Miller's attempt years ago-- would fall apart entirely. But of course, Justice League carries enormous potential for the studio, their version of the massively successful The Avengers, and they're not going to give up that fast. Especially if they've got an ace up their sleeve to make it happen with aplomb.
Who's that ace? Christopher Nolan, of course. No, he hasn't been involved in any Justice League plans so far, stating over and over that his role as producer on this summer's Superman effort Man of Steel will be his last effort in superhero stories, and he's completely done with Batman. But according to Latino Review, the scrapping of Will Beall's script is a sign that has changed… and "Chris Nolan has completely taken over the DC Universe at Warner Bros."
Nolan's hand guiding the future of DC Comics stories is exactly what fans have been rooting for this whole time, but that's not all: Latino Review's sources tell them that Nolan is shaping Justice League as a team-up between Man of Steel star Henry Cavill and Christian Bale, reprising his role as Batman. As Latino Review's El Mayimbe puts it, Superman will arrive and find Bruce Wayne somewhere in his peaceful retirement, tell him he's putting a team together, and get all the new action started.
Do we know if any of this will happen? Of course not-- not only is this a rumor, albeit one from a site with a strong track record for getting it right, but this is all talk happening before the June 14 release of Man of Steel, whose success will completely determine the future of DC movies. Remember, it wasn't so long ago that Superman Returns was supposed to mark a whole new Superman franchise and spinoffs, and we all moved on from that pretty quickly. But word on Man of Steel is also strong, so if that film turns into a hit, the return of Nolan and Bale's Batman might be much, much more possible than you ever thought.
Sam Raimi Will Work on an ‘Evil Dead 4′ Script This Summer
From slashfilm, Raimi has long suggested he was going to return to the franchise, but with the remake on the way many fans might have though that was the outlet. Then, a few months back, the writer/director successful stopped another company from making Evil Dead 4. The company suggested Raimi’s lack of interest in the project gave them the right but they ultimately lost, leaving the door open.
If this actually happens, there are many, many questions to answer. Some of which, we assume, will be partially answered once Raimi starts doing press for the Fede Alvarez-directed remake out on April 5. The biggest one has to be, will Bruce Campbell– still kicking ass at the age of 54 – once again play Ash? It seems like a foregone conclusion, even if it’s just to pass the torch to a new generation. And will Raimi’s film dovetail with any possible Alvarez sequels? Like I said, many questions.
But Raimi himself said he’s writing the movie this summer and, for Evil Dead fans, that’s incredibly exciting.

Bonnie Franklin, 'One Day at a Time' star, dies at 69
From ew [excerpt], Bonnie Franklin, the pert, redheaded actress whom millions came to identify with for her role as divorced mom Ann Romano on the long-running sitcom One Day at a Time, has died.
She died Friday at her home in Los Angeles due to complications from pancreatic cancer, family members said. She was 69. Her family had announced she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in September.
Watch: Vintage 'The Empire Strikes Back' Documentary With Unseen Footage & More
From indiewire, As much as the “Star Wars” series of films were (and J.J. Abrams' will definitely be) adept in keeping details close to the vest, the extensive documentation of all things to do with the franchise was nothing short of astounding. However, “The Empire Strikes Back” yielded some fly-on-the-wall footage that, while entertaining, remained largely locked in a vault. Luckily not for too long more, though, as a great deal of it has come to light.
Michael Parbot, a French journalist who gained unprecedented access to the 'Empire' production, contributed his footage to two documentaries: “SPFX: The Empire Strikes Back,” a behind-the-scenes look at the film's special effects, and a 1980 Dutch TV program showcasing lightsaber rehearsal footage and interviews with the cast.
The first made it onto the trilogy's Blu-ray release in 2011, but the Dutch program has only been seen in near-unwatchable snippets, appearing last in 2012 with 15 minutes available. Finally though, our clearest and most extended (30-minute) look has arrived, and it features fascinating conversations with Irvin Kershner, Mark Hamill, and a bashful Harrison Ford.
George Lucas himself is notably absent, but the doc shows instead the incredible technical work done by both the actors and crew, facing such situations as shooting in Norway's extreme weather to depict Hoth, and also how to wrangle Tauntauns and Wampas as well.
First look: Amazing Spider-Man 2 costume
From superherohype, Following a tease by director Marc Webb himself last week, we now have your exclusive first look at the costume that will be featured in next summer's
As Webb promised last November, the costume features much bigger eyes and a number of alterations to color and texture throughout. This is quite arguably the closest any of the films have come to matching the design
from the comics, especially Mark Bagley's take in Ultimate Spider-Man. A good visual comparison is this photo from last year's The Amazing Spider-Man, featuring Spidey in a similar pose.
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) finds, life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone),high school graduation
can't come quickly enough. Peter hasn't forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen's father to protect her by staying away – but that's a promise he just can't keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.
Also starring Martin Sheen, Shailene Woodley, Paul Giammatti, Felicity Jones and Colm Feore, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters May 2, 2014.
