There were some really great haikus this week, and I was hard pressed to pick a winner, but in the end JPX's amputee haiku edged out the competition. The last line added a nice punch and a powerful visual. Great job everyone, and congratulations JPX!
I know it's silly
but amputee's freak me out
Can't handle the stump

Wow, thank you very much! I didn't contribute much and I didn't think mine were up to par, but I accept! I was sure Stan had this one all locked up. I already have my idea for next week...
Congrats JPX, there were a lot of good one's. I can totally relate to the amputee phobia.
congratulations jpx!
I'm actually a little relieved - I am fresh out of ideas.
Congrats, JPX!
Congrats, JPX! Well deserved. Everyone did a great job. I particularly enjoyed Stan’s Rubik’s cube haiku.
I have a family member who was born with a stump for an arm. We often refer to him as “One Arm Johnny.” My grandfather bought him both a prosthetic and a hook as a child, but he wouldn’t use them. He gets along quite well with the stump though. He can hold drinks with it, steer a car, and spread pizza dough.
I think I'm going to pass out.
Has anyone optioned the story rights to Whirlygirl's life?
I feel like I could turn it into series for HBO.
I think she's working on it - you haven't even heard the really good stories yet!
congrats JPX. I also loved
Know what pleases me?
Running into old classmates
And they're fat or bald
as well as Stan's "Nice design asshole" bits.
I daresay Whirly is a pathological liar. No one could possibly have that many peculiar anecdotes.
I was brain dead this week by the way. I desperately wanted to participate but could not get it together. (ok maybe not desperately...)
Also Mr. AC, I am donating my beautiful body to Body Worlds. I filled out the forms and everything.
JPX's comment, "I think I'm going to pass out" made me laugh out loud!
Congrats, JPX - sorry I couldn't get my act together this week. Looking forward to next week!
A boyfriend of mine in high school set my friend up with his friend who had a stump arm. In the course of the night he tried to rub her back with his nub, she freaked out and hit a random guy on crutches with a stick. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I think Whirlygirl should open up her own pizza joint specializing in stump-tossed™ pies.
That's hysterical.
And it would have to be called "One Arm Johnny's"
