(2013) ***3/4
This big-budget, PG-13 Brad Pitt vehicle strays pretty far from the source material, but succeeds as a zombie-themed summer blockbuster.

Cool! I'm so happy to hear you guys liked it. Especially since you read the book as well.
Nice to hear it doesn't suck.
only downside was a series of horror-themed dreams this am. both brad pitt and harrison ford had cameos, so it wasn't all bad.
Crap, that's out already too? I'm so far behind on summer movies. As in "oh-for-whatever." Nice to hear this one delivers though...the wife and I both liked the book. Figured it would have to stray pretty far to be doable though.
We caught this yesterday. While it's always great to see a new big budget zombie flick I was disappointed that it strayed so far from the source material. Also I don't approve of PG-13 zombie movies. The lack of vomit inducing gore upset me.
Still worth checking out though! It definitely added some new ideas to the zombie canon.
