(2013) ****
Dr. Ryan Stone is on her first shuttle mission, accompanied by confident veteran astronaut Matt Kowalski. When unexpected disaster strikes, the two are stranded in space, with very limited prospects for survival.
Still striving for no spoilers, just in case!
Gravity is a visually gorgeous, heart-pounding thrillride. I was skeptical of the casting, because Clooney and Bullock are such big stars, and I didn't know how believable they'd be, but both did an excellent job. The IMAX 3-D was the best use of the technology I've seen. My main complaint (and it's fine if y'all disagree) was Stone's backstory, which felt like more drama than we needed. The actual predicament itself provided sufficient excitement and concern, and that extra detail felt emotionally manipulative and took me out of the movie a little. But I still recommend it highly, definitely in the theater, and in IMAX 3-D if at all possible.

DCD, see it in 3D before it's too late!
I'm so glad you liked this, AC, I thought it was terrific as well!
Where the heck is Mr. AC this year? He has been missed!
This was a spectacular film.
thanks jpx, he has been watching but not writing! maybe next year we'll do double reviews like jsp and crystal.
Can't wait to see it.
I did not see this becoming this year's multi-viewed hit, and while in theaters to boot! I missed this year's bandwagon, d'oh.
