It's That Time Again

If you are out and about this Saturday night my brother and I will be performing at the Holy Angels Italian Festival on Maple Avenue in Barrington. We go on around 6 and carry it til the festival closes.  Come have some good food, fun &!knock back a couple of beers while listening to our soothing sounds. Hope to see some of you there.

‘The Space Invaders: In Search of Lost Time’ Trailer: Feature Length Documentary About Classic Arcade Games

From slashfilm, I love a good documentary, but I really love a good documentary about video games.The King of Kong and Indie Game were each on my best of lists their year of release and a new film has now been released exploring a new aspect of gaming. (Or, to me more accurate, an old one.)

I haven’t watched this film, so I can’t yet vouch for its quality but here’s the good news. We call call watch it right now. The film is called The Space Invaders: In Search of Lost Time and it tells the story of the golden age of arcades by following several subjects who’ve made it their life’s work to restore and collect old stand-up games. It’s directed by Jeff Von Ward and is currently available for download and via Amazon Instant Video.

Beginning with Space Invaders in 1978, arcade games began to appear everywhere. By 1982, there were 13,000 dedicated arcade locations across North America. It was the golden age of arcade games, generating $3.2 billion dollars in 1983. By 1985, revenue had fallen 97%. Atari declared bankruptcy. Arcades closed. Most of the old games were converted or destroyed. A few packed into warehouses where they remained, largely forgotten, for at least another decade. This is the story of arcade video games, and their second life in basements and garages all across the country.

(CNN) -- Actress Lisa Robin Kelly, one of the stars of TV's "That '70s Show," has died, according to her agent, Craig Wyckoff.

Kelly was 43, according to her biography on the Internet Movie Database."Lisa had voluntarily checked herself into a treatment facility early this week where she was battling the addiction problems that have plagued her these past few years. I spoke to her on Monday and she was hopeful and confident, looking forward to putting this part of her life behind her. (Wednesday) night she lost the battle. Cause of death has not been issued yet and no death certificate has been issued either," Wyckoff said.Kelly played Laurie Forman, older sister of Eric Forman, played by actor Topher Grace, on "That '70s Show," which ran from 1998 to 2006.

"Expendables 3" Confirmed Cast & New Details

From darkhorizons, Filming on the Patrick Hughes-directed third "The Expendables" movie begins next week, and in the lead-up a few new bits of information have come to light.

First up, series producer Boaz Davidson has confirmed the current official cast list through hisFacebook page:

Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Dolph Lundgren, Wesley Snipes, Jet Li, Randy Couture, Antonio Banderas, Ronda Rousey, Terry Crews, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Victor Ortiz, Kellan Lutz.

Remember these are the fully confirmed names only, and don't include some of previously mentioned names like Jackie Chan, Milla Jovovich and Nicolas Cage.

It has also been confirmed that Rousey, Ortiz, Lutz and the recently cast Glen Powell will play members of "a younger group of tech-savvy action heroes" who initially come into conflict with Stallone's crew and eventually team-up with them.

Christian Bale Offered $50 Million to Return for "Man of Steel 2"?

From worstpreviews, Who will play Batman in "Man of Steel2"? That's the big question around Hollywood as director Zack Snyder is getting ready to begin filming the sequel next year. There are plenty of rumors regarding the role, including one from THR, claiming that Josh Brolin is the favorite to play the superhero.

Today we have two more rumors, both coming from incredibly unreliable sources. The first is from LatinoReview, which says that Warner Bros wants Christian Bale to reprise his role. The studio wants him so bad that they offered him $50 millionto return. The money depends on how the film performs, but considering how much "Man of Steel" grossed, $50 million would be very possible.

The story didn't actually come from LatinoReview, but from a newebook, called "Beyond Batman: The UnauthorizedTrue Storyof Christian Bale and His Dark Knight Dilemma," which sites several sources close to production.

The other rumor comes fromScottAdkins' fansite that claims that the actor has already auditioned for the role of Batman. Adkins is known for "The Expendables 2," "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," "Zero Dark Thirty" and "Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning."

Jim Carrey is Villainous Carnage in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2"?

Back in March, there was a rumor that Jim Carrey may appear in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" afterhe wasspotted on the set of thenew movie. At the time, very little information was known, so the rumor kind of went away.

Now, a SHH user is making claims that hisfamily memberworked on the production and can confirm that Carrey will definitelyshowup in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." While he didn't reveal what role the actor will play, there are now many theories.

Since the original setphotowas taken in March, at the same time that director Marc Webb was filming scenes at the Ravencroft Institute insane asylum, many believe that Carrey will play one of the inmates, Cletus Kasady, who will eventually become Carnage. The actor was also rumored to play the villain back when Sam Raimi was attempting to get "Spider-Man 4" off the ground.

Webb previously said that the plan is to introduce many new characters in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" in order to expand the Marvel universe (owned bySony). There are already plans for "The Amazing Spider-Man 4," so there's definitely room to build up Carnage before he becomes the main villain.
