From entertainment weekly, "Gwyneth Paltrow has been tapped for the Marvel Entertainment movie Iron Man, which features Robert Downey, Jr. in the title role. Paltrow will play Virginia "Pepper" Potts, the personal assistant to Iron Man's alter-ego, billionaire Tony Stark. The Jon Favreau-directed project is the first feature film to be produced independently by Marvel. Production is scheduled to begin in March."

I'm so glad Paltrow has finally sunk down to her appropriate level.
She's a warm glass of skim milk and audiences know it (which is why they never go to any of her movies). Her "performance" in Sky Captain was notable because she shared the screen with A. Jolie and we all got to see what REAL movie star charisma is and how Paltrow is just a damp piece of white toast in comparison.
Jon Favreau is the gas station attendant of '90s cinema.
Yeah, Paltrow does nothing for me but women seem to love her for some reason. I've always found her to be rather bland.
Women like her because she's not sexy and not attractive so she doesn't threaten their self-image.
Women who "don't see what the big deal is" about Jessica Biel and say Jolie is "too skinny"/"too weird" etc. like Paltrow.
That must be why women like Sarah Jessica Parker, the world's ugliest human being.
I'll give Paltrow cred as attractive but not sexy. Because I like the casting of Robert Downey Jr., I want Iron Man to be a good movie. If Paltrow performs like she did in Sky Captain (a textbook example of a "highbrow" actor totally not getting the movie (either because she thought she was slumming or because of her own shortcomings, I don't know (or care))), I'll be annoyed. You wouldn't like me when I'm annoyed.
Exactly! They have some fantasy that they can be like that, and looking at Michelle Pfeiffer or Cameron Diaz makes that difficult.
