Going back to the prom

From dark horizons, "Dana Davis, Jessica Stroup, Scott Porter, Collins Penne, and Kelly Blatz will join Brittany Snow and Idris Elba on "Prom Night", next year's remake of the 1980 teen horror classic.

According to Bloody Disgusting, most of those new names will serve as victim fodder. Meanwhile uber-hunk Jonathan Schaech plays a character named 'Richard Fenton'. Hmmm.

Here's the synopsis: "Donna's senior prom is supposed to be the best night of her life, one of magic, beauty, and love. Surrounded by her best friends, she should be safe from the horrors of her past. But when the night turns from magic to murder there is only one man who could be responsible...the man she thought was gone forever. Now, Donna and her friends must find a way to escape the sadistic rampage of an obsessed killer, and survive their Prom Night."

Nelson McCormick directs the remake which is due for release February 1st 2008."

Feh. I watched the original Prom Nights (1 and 2) during the 2004 'thon. Both pretty lame.

So go ahead! Remake it. Make sure you include the scene in which the heroic couple dance defiantly at his oversexed ex.

Who tries to get famous with the last name Blatz? That's not gonna happen.

That poster looks like the killer is in the middle of a nosejob, which is grosser than being stabbed with that knife.
