Gahh! Freakin' Hostel movies freak me out. There was a drill bit lying on my desk yesterday and my eyes happened upon it and suddenly I flashed on Hostel...thanks, Eli Roth! You sick fuck.
The thing that makes this so goddamned effective is that it makes sense. That is, an encounter with a deformed, insane, monstrously strong serial killer seems a lot less likely than some Eastern European gangsters deciding to kill you for money. I mean, we know gangsters exist and that's what they do...
I guess in reality an operation like that would be nearly impossible to create or run, but the trappings are so realistic. Brrr.
