The actor, who almost backed out of the franchise before "Spider-Man 2" because of reported back problems from his work on the film "Seabiscuit," recently told SciFi Wire's Patrick Lee that reports of him losing his webslinging ability have been a bit exaggerated.
"It all depends on if there's a story worth telling," Maguire said. "I feel very proud of the three movies that we've made. I feel like the stories all deserve to be told, and you now, if they come up with a good movie, and the whole team wants to get back together and we feel lie we can make a good movie that's worth making, then I'm up for it."
When Maguire says the "whole team," there's a good chance he's talking about the involvement of director Sam Raimi. The director hasn't indicated whether or not he would return, but Marvel producer Avi Arad has said that work has begun on a fourth film no matter who returns.
Look for "Spider-Man 3" to open in theaters May 4.

Translation: "It all depends on how much dough they'll pay me because I want a lot more!"
Don't worry, Tobey, with 35 years of Spider-Man comic books I'm certain they'll be able to come up with a "story worth telling".
I like Tobey Maguire, he does a good job in the role, but at this point I'm more interested in seeing Jake Gyllenhaal try it out.
