While out promoting his voice work in Shrek the Third, everyone’s favorite former Garth Algar revealed that he’s planning an Austin Powers 4. Myers tells Moviehole: “There is a fully conceived idea for a fourth and I can just say that it’s from Dr Evil’s point of view, so if you balanced how much of it was Austin with Dr Evil, it’s more Dr Evil than Austin.”
Sounds like the franchise may have to be renamed after its much more popular villain character. He elaborated a bit on what Dr. Evil’s big movie will be about over at RT: “There's one that we had an idea about and the only thing I will say is that it's entirely from Dr. Evil's point of view… It would be the first of his trilogy.” Yep, we’re talking about not just one Dr. Evil movie, but three. Myer’s Dr. Evil character is genius and if they can revitalize this thing by making it all about him I’m all for it. That’s one of the things the third movie did wrong, they marginalized him by bringing in a new villain. Big mistake. Goldmember was was semi-evil. Quasi-evil. He was the Diet Coke of evil. Just one calorie, not evil enough. Even in the more Austin focused movies Evil is the reason people showed up. Let him open an Evil Petting Zoo and give him his own movie and maybe there’s hope for the future of Austin Powers after all."

Eeeeeyeah. Honestly, I think every character in every Austin Powers movie overplays their shtick at some point. I can’t get very excited about this, but at least it’s not another Cat in the Hat movie.
I wouldn't throw another Austin movie out of bed. That is to say, I'd see it when it came out on DVD and chuckle a couple of times before pointing out its flaws.
