The Changeling remake
From bloody-disgusting, Director extrordinairre Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy) will produce Rogue Pictures' The Changeling, the long-delayed remake of the classic George C. Scott film from 1979, according to Variety. The film, which inspired The Ring, follows a man who is haunted in his mansion by the ghost of a girl. The screenplay for the remake was written by Paul Haggis and Dave Kajganich, although no word yet on if their draft will be used.

I saw the original once; I think we rented the tape from good old Video Connection. I recall it being pretty good.
I never heard that it inspired The Ring, though.
Ahh, the Video Connection...such memories. Mostly that the woman who ran it had a really bad Flock of Seagulls haircut and wanted to date our Dad!
Video Connection, where everything was "out" except 16 Candles and Breakfast Club, which DCD rented every other day!
