For Horrorthon 2009
From worstpreviews, According to Variety [via /Film], another installment in the "Friday the 13th" franchise is being targeted by New Line Cinema for 2009. No word yet on any plot details or when exactly the film will be release, but that doesn't stop us from speculating.
By my count, four out of eleven "Friday the 13th" films were released on Friday 13th. This makes for easy marketing, so it is no doubt that New Line will aim for the creepy date again. In 2009, the 13th falls on a Friday three times (February, March, November) and as much as I would love to take a guess at a possible release date, the truth is that past sequels have been spread all over the calendar.
I'm not really sure why New Line is so interested in another installment, especially when past results seem so unpredictable. "Jason X" earned $16 million worldwide on an $11 million budget, while "Freddy vs Jason" earned a whopping $114 million on a $30 million budget. I have no doubt that New Line is paying close attention to Rob Zombie's "Halloween" remake, and will probably base part of their decision on the success of the movie. Stay tuned.

Sigh. It's depressing to see someone comparing the box-office takes of Jason X and Freddy vs. Jason and saying the franchise is "unpredictable," never stopping to note the colossal difference in SUCKAGE.
Jason X is one of the worst movies with a big-time franchise title ever made.
Jason X may be the worst movie I've ever seen aside from the Stupids starring Tom Arnold.
Bet's on the next one? My predictions:
1) It'll be a remake or a prequel
2) It'll totally suck.
3) JPX will think it's great.
"3) JPX will think it's great."
Excuse me?
everyone knows that only good one is Part 6! Well 4's pretty good 2. Wait, Part 3 might be the best one...
