Octo, what have you been up to?

A huge Lego toy has mysteriously appeared on Zandvoort beach in the Netherlands. Nobody knows where it comes from.

Octopunk here, and I was wondering where that one got to. You go through all the trouble of putting up laser fences and then the janitor just leaves the door open. Oh well...

I'm a little embarrassed that DCD scooped me on this; our Dad emailed me about it last Wednesday. I am, of course, enchanted beyond belief. I hope whoever's responsible never provides a single word of explanation, although if it's some art piece, which is my guess, I wouldn't blame them if they took credit for it. There's some great videos of this on YouTube, both a little over a minute long. This one shows him floating around in the surf, smiling and unperturbed, and this one has some good footage of people standing around and digging it. And digable it is.
