Wachowskis Make A Ninja Movie

From cinemablend, This one sort of came out of nowhere. Apparently Larry and Andy Wachowski are already lining up their next project post-Speed Racer, and they’re doing a ninja movie called, Ninja Assassin.

The story comes from Variety, where they offer no further details on what the movie may be about. Not that we need them, the title sort of says it all doesn’t it? The Wachowski’s and ninjas are a natural fit.

What we do know about the film is that they’re casting a Korean pop star in Ninja Assassin’s lead role. His name is Jung Ji-hoon, and when he’s on stage as the biggest pop star in all of South Korea he goes by the name “Rain”. Generally casting pop stars in anything is an awful idea, but in the case of Rain he has some experience. He played the lead in Park Chan-wooks’ 2007 movie I’m a Cyborg, But That’s OK, and he’s also in Speed Racer as a supporting character.

I'm kind of amazed that Ninja Assassin is still available as a title.

Korean pop star, huh? Well, it's still gonna be better than The Host.

That's interesting. Are you lumping in martial arts movies or are ninja movies their own genre? Cuz I can recommend some good martial arts flicks.
