(2010)**1/2
A television ghost hunter is pushed by his network into doing one more show before retiring. He takes on a house that the owner claims is being haunted by the ghost hunter's dead wife. He brings a cameraman, assistant and a noted skeptic along on the investigation. Shortly after they arrive the house owner shoots himself in the head. Unbelievably they stay on to complete the investigation with his stinking, brain splattered corpse still sitting where it lays. The haunting proves to be real and the team is in for a disturbing weekend.
This film had a lot of promise but it appears they got over indulgent with the plot. They try to incorporate too many side stories and general weirdness without focusing on the ghosts. Had they simply made this all about the haunting it could have been scary as hell. Instead it's just a confusing mess of strangeness. Too bad, I was really routing for it after the intense beginning.

Yeah, that's a drag, the setup sounds pretty good. How much of the movie, if any, comes from the cameraman's camera?
I agree, the setup sounds great and I love that picture you posted. Did the rest of the film look that gorgeous?
I honestly don't remember this being shot with a hand held, but my memory is starting to get a bit muddy at this point.
Hi guys, I'm one of the leads in the movie and this blog popped up on my "Ghosts Don't Exist" google alert. To answer your questions @JPX yes the rest of the film looks that gorgeous! It was shot on the Red and really is a great looking film. @Octopunk - Unfortunately none of the actual movie comes from the cameraman's camera. I think that could have been a nice direction to go for some of the scary stuff. Hope you decide to check it out, they are practically giving it away at Amazon now! Have a great weekend!
Wow. I'm pretty sure that's the first time a cast member of a movie we've reviewed has chimed in. First that Archie writer and now this! We're getting big time! (I'm off to buy a monacle.)
Kchertu, thanks for commenting!
No problem. :) I just made a feature film with an iPhone 4G... you should review that too! If you want to see the trailer you could probably google Dead iSland iphone trailer and get it... I'd link it, but not sure if you guys allow that.
Kchertu, so awesome of you to stop by and comment. Thanks again!
