Bad Idea: "Martyrs" Remake is Officially in the Works


From slashfilm, We've been hearing about a remake of the French horrorfilm"Martyrs" since it was first released in 2009. At one point Kristen Stewart (Twilight) was rumored to star in an English-language version, but that has never been confirmed.

Now comes word that Blumhouse, the company behind "Paranormal Activity," "Insidious" and "The Conjuring," ismovingforward with the remake and has signed Kevin and Michael Goetz (Scenic Route) to direct.

In the original "Martyrs," a young woman'squestfor revenge against the people who kidnapped and tormented her as a child leads her and a friend, who is also a victim of child abuse, on a terrifying journey into a living hell of depravity.

Yeah I might've been on board for a Poltergeist remake but I can't imagine they won't fuck this up. The original is too severe, they'll back off that in some way and the changes will start rolling from there. Pass.

Why can't they just come up with their own original ideas instead of remaking someone else's. The American film industry is crap.

Agreed, I have zero faith in this film. They're going to PG-13 the shit out of it.
