"The Ring 3" May Also be in 3-D
From worstpreviews, The last time we heard any talk about a new "The Ring" installment is back in January of 2007, when producer Roy Lee revealed that the plan is to hold off from making another movie for a few years and then return to the franchise "with a new fresh story."
It is now almost three years since he has said that and today comes word that talks regarding "The Ring 3" have started, mostly because producers realized that developing a new movie in 3-D could mean big numbers at the box office.
At this point, there is now word regarding the plot, but it sounds like the studio may develop a prequel in a similar fashion to the Japanese film "Ring 0: Birthday."

I saw Ring 0: Birthday, and it's kee-razy. If I recall correctly it's the story of a girl whose evil twin turns out to be Sadako. The unfolding of that story is admittedly interesting but... twin? There's twins?
The explanation for this is beyond silly, as the girls' dad makes some one-sentence observation that he made another girl from the first one like you can make two new flatworms by cutting one in half.
Mitosis.
I have Ring 0 and it is pretty crazy, it's Sadako but all grown up with a twin like an alternate universe if she hadn't died in the well. It's really a different story altogether and gets very freaky near the end.
