Brittany Murphy Dies

From TMZ, Brittany Murphy died early this morning after she went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived, multiple sources tell TMZ.

She was 32.

A 911 call was made at 8:00 AM from a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack, the Los Angeles City Fire Department tells TMZ.

We're told Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Murphy starred in such films as "Clueless," "8 Mile," and "Don't Say a Word."

Holy shit! Man, I did not see that coming.

That's too bad. I like her work.

Cardiac arrest at age 32? I'm guessing that this was caused by anorexia.

Or cocaine.

Had to be cocaine.

This makes me very sad. I'm a huge King of the Hill fan and even though it was cancelled (for what, the 10th time?), it's now OFFICIALLY over. Most people brush that show off but KOTH was the first and only cartoon to capture vulnerability and awkwardness with both the drawings and the story lines.

Now Sunday nights consist of the Simpsons, Family Guy, Cleveland show and American Dad. The character depictions in the latter 3 are all identical, not to mention Simpsons influenced. Fuck.

Are you kidding? I love King of the Hill!

Mike Judge can do no wrong, in my opinion (although I didn't see his two most recent movies).

Her performance in Sin City was great. She and Bruce Willis were probably the best two in there (with Clive Owen and Rosario Dawson running right behind). (Okay, Owen and Dawson were better than her.) Murphy totally understood the vibe of the project, unlike that idiot Jessica Alba, who (as usual) had no idea what was going on.

I love KOTH as well. It remains the most underrated primetime animated series. I missed the series finale a few months ago and they stopped putting out season sets on DVD after season 6. Hopefully this show will get its due rewards some day.

I was also totally shocked to hear this. Bummer. From the little I've read so far she apparently had some drug problems. Sad, sad.
