The live action G.I Joe film is being directed by Stephen Sommers and is set to be released August 7, 2009.

that's funny. when i saw the name channing tatum, my first thought was that it was a child actress. my second thought was, "damn, were her parents hoping that the childhood stardom of dakota fanning and tatum o'neal was going to rub off on her if they called her both names?" then came my third thought which was, "oh, it's channing not fanning."
