Yikes! So glad I quite 14 years ago. Tony has now been almost 2 months smoke free.
After fifteen years, your health risks decline to those of somebody who never smoked.

I used to run smoking cessation groups at the VA hospital. We would start out with 25 guys and by time we got to the last session there would be only 2.
I knew a guy whose brother was an alcoholic, chain-smoking schizophrenic, and he worked all three of them out in the same year. He said quitting smoking was the hardest of the three.
(He didn't quit being schizophrenic, of course, he just got treatment and meds.)
Many schizophrenics seem to be heavy smokers and I have often wondered if it has some sort of calming effect on their internal chaos.
