Vidal Sassoon died


From usatoday, Vidal Sassoon, a name forever connected with hair, has died at age 84 in Los Angeles.

Sassoon, often referred to as the "founder of hairdressing," was found dead in his Mulholland Drive home. The Los Angeles Times reports that law enforcement officials say he died of an "unspecified illness."

Sassoon was reported last year to be fighting leukemia after being diagnosed with blood cancer in 2009.

Sassoon, who started out as a shampoo boy at age 14, went on to open his first London salon in 1954 and gave Mia Farrow her famous short cut for Rosemary's Baby, was married four times.

Sassoon had four children with his second wife, actress Beverly Adams: two daughters Catya (who died after a drug overdose in 2002, and Eden, and sons Elan and David. In 1992 he married Rhonda, his fourth wife, who has been described as his "rock" through his recent illnesses.

Actually it looks like he's in limbo waiting to be judged, like a nerd who knows he just aced his exam.

I remember when his hair care products first hit the stores. I loved the almond scent and they were great products that didn't cost a fortune.
