Livide

(2011)****1/2

Lucie Klavel is starting her first day as a home care giver. She travels to different homes to administer meds with an older woman who is training her. One of the houses they visit is a run down old mansion owned by a famous dancer Mrs. Jessel. Lucie is told to wait in the car but curiosity gets the best of her and she ventures in. Once she enters the old woman's bedroom her partner commends her on her curiosity and tells her she is well suited for the job. Mrs. Jessel looks like a withered old corpse, she has a strange key around her neck which Lucie is told is the key to her treasure. Later that evening Lucie & 2 male friends, desperate for money, decide to break in and steal the treasure. They wind up being locked in a house of horrors instead.

Another French beauty from the director of Inside. This film is creepy as hell. The house is terrifying and if that wasn't enough to get me running that old woman would scare the life right out of anyone. I was hoping to find a perfect 5 star film here and believe me it has all the potential but doesn't quite earn that last half star for me. Still, I'll take a four and a half star scare fest any day of the week. Good stuff, I believe I'm having a love affair with French horror.

This sounds just excellent! You have discovered a ton of good foreign films this year - my hat is off to you even though I don't wear hats...

I did my research so it wasn't all by chance. It's been a great season.

Sounds wonderful. Biddy friendly or not?

I'd say it was okay for a biddy of your caliber.
