Sigh and double sigh. The Predator franchise never ever had anything near the coolness of the Alien franchise. Ever.
I remember reading that when filming the first Predator they had to send back the first monster suit because it was too lame. I don't know if it was just the suit or the design itself, but to me the Predator monster's design always had a hastily-assembled look to it. That it would get merged with Giger's supreme alien design is about as stupid as...I don't know, creating an Alien/human hybrid?
Oh yeah, they did that too.
