Blown opportunity; King of Kong poster sucks

The poster for the documentary "The King of Kong" has finally been released. The film chronicles a rivalry between two gamers, Steve Wiebe and Billy Mitchell, as they battle for the title of world champion of Donkey Kong.

The poster looks incredibly cheap, simply introducing the two main contestants. I hope the film is as good as I have heard, because everything that has been shown to me so far, is not even worth writing about.

Apparently, the film is so interesting that New Line will fast-track a remake of it, with the original's director Seth Gordon attached to helm. "The King of Kong" is scheduled to hit theaters on August 17th, in limited release.

I would've had the two guys swinging mallets at each other with a menacing Donkey Kong staring down at them. This poster looks like it's promoting a Bay City Rollers concert in 1970.

No game imagery at all! That sucks! I'd want to see the combatants dueling it out while rolling down-girder on a matched pair of barrells.
