Confirmed, Two-Face in The Dark Knight

From syfyportal, Ever since Christopher Nolan resurrected the Batman film series with "Batman Begins," there has been considerable interest in where the movies will go next.
The first excursion saw The Caped Crusader go head-to-head with Scarecrow and a secretive cabal intent on re-shaping the world. And now, not one but two villain favorites from the past will come back in the sequel.

Aaron Eckhart, who will take on the one-time Tommy Lee Jones role of Harvey Dent, confirmed to Dark Horizons that he also has taken on the role of the insidious villain from the comic series. And how is the baddie shaping up?

In Eckhart’s view, Two-Face has turned out more likable than previous incarnations of the character.

"This guy has likeable attributes, characteristics," Eckhart said of his character. "And it really, as in this whole Batman going through it, it's really a mirror of our times in a lot of ways. It's a comment on what's going on in the world today. And my character fits into that really nicely. And everybody's character does from Lt. Gordon to the Joker.

"I guess Batman is just trying to make sense of what's going on and trying to fight a fight that maybe he doesn't totally understand."

Two-Face previously was featured as one of the villains in "Batman Forever," but Eckhart isn’t too worried about Jones’ role in that movie as he aims to make the character his own.

"What somebody else did is what somebody else did," he said. "In soap operas you're willing to believe that a character can come back to life. Basically, you just want that guy on screen. You don't care what happened before. It's like balance. I mean J.R. [Ewing from 'Dallas'] could come back today and nobody would care. I mean nobody would care about the logistics of him coming back. So I don't think people are going to get hung up on my performance versus Tommy Lee's. It's just two different things."

"The Dark Knight" is currently set for a July 2008 premiere.

Quoi? Has there been a rash of lawyers getting acid thrown in their faces?

Actually, I think AE will make a great Harvey Dent. There's a great moment in Frank Miller's Batman Year One in which Bats, Gordon and Dent meet together for the first time and it's like a secret cabal of good has been formed in Gotham, except because of what we know is going to happen to Dent it's terribly tragic. Batman Forever ignored that opportunity, and I'm hoping this movie grabs it.
