That trailer might not look to bad, but I'll tell you why it is: Liotta's "life...has never been more exciting" line at the end is sucktacular, and you know they were looking for the best line they could use.
Second, there's evidence of a lot of springboards on the battle sets, just like the zombies had in House of the Dead. Jason S himself bounces on two of them concealed by lying corpses, and there's that shot of two synchronized dudes in the air pointing their swords like River Dance people on wires.
I don't mind that Boll uses cheap moves like that, pulling a lot out of a little is what good directors do. Michel Gondry, for example, makes excellent use of inexpensive sight gags. But Boll isn't good enough to hide the cheap. I've never been able to tell if he thinks it's cool or he doesn't care, but "doesn't care" is the vibe his movies always leave me with.
