From iwatchstuff, Poor Evan Almighty. It cost $210 million to make and still hasn't reached the $100 million dollar mark at the box office. And now comes the news that the film won't even be released in Japan.Sources behind the decision say that it would've been too costly to re-imagine Noah as an attractive school girl whose panties are stolen by a vengeful octopus.
And now I don't know what the hell I'm going to do with all the Steve Carell hugging pillows I made.

How in the Jiminy Cricket did this movie take 210 million dollars to make? Are CG animals really that expensive?
I'm actually baffled that it flopped so badly - this seems like the kind of stupid movie that Americans normally embrace. I mean, come on, a gentle comedy with a strong religious message, how did this miss?
Two words: black god.
Remember when T2 cost 100 million and it was the most expensive movie ever made? I googled "hundred million" in my move to confirm that and one of the articles that popped up had the word "mere" in front of "hundred million." Golly.
