The final installment in Dario Argento’s "Three Mothers" trilogy. An ancient urn is found strapped to a casket in a cemetery outside Rome. After it’s opened, all hell breaks loose. The city erupts with violence, mayhem, rapes, murders & looting. Witches begin flocking to the city in droves gathering for the return of Mater Lacrimarum, the Mother of Tears. Sarah Mandy, an art student must alone realize her destiny and use her born in supernatural powers to destroy the Mother of Tears and save Rome from certain destruction.

here since it is most certainly more detailed and definitely better written then my own. This was not my favorite of the trilogy although it does deliver the goods on the gore scale.
Unfortunately it just doesn’t have the panache of the other two films in this trilogy. I searched my soul to pinpoint the problem with this movie and all things seem to point to the mother. She’s just kinda ruins it for me. To quote JPX, " The biggest mistake he makes is having Sarah connect with her deceased mother, initially as a guiding voice in her head (which is fine), and later appearing in ghostly form a la Obi Wan Kenobi (which is comical). This wouldn’t be a bad thing if she didn’t look utterly silly and sound like a decades old smoker – all of her appearances render these scenes silly and really pull you out of the story.” So, so true and I couldn’t say it any better.
Otherwise, the film is ok and as I mentioned before the gore scale is not disappointing in the least. Still, it was nice to draw conclusion to the Three Mothers Trilogy.
