Robert Rodriguez to Shoot "The Jetsons" in 2010

From worstpreviews Even though director Robert Rodriguez is currently working on a "Predators" reboot, a "Sin City" sequel, a "Machete" film, and a sci-fi thriller "Nerverackers," he is still trying to get a big screen adaptation of "The Jetsons" into theaters.

"I've been developing [The Jetsons] for awhile," Rodriguez told MTV News, adding that he's hoping to start shooting "next year." Rodriguez went on to confirm that the film would be live-action, but declined to drop any hints about the plot or potential casting choices.

Adam F. Goldberg (Fanboys) penned an early draft of the script, which is currently being re-worked. "We're writing the script right now," Rodriguez said excitedly.

This is so weird. I was just thinking about the Jetsons on the way to work today. And I didn't read this post yesterday.

Clearly, Rodriguez is on to my personal zeitgeist.
