For such an embarrassingly lackluster haiku topic I actually laughed at almost every submission. Octo pretty much nailed me with this haiku:

What's lying around my desk?
They'll never notice
In a way you’re all winners. But in another, more accurate way, 50 Page McGee is the winner for pitching a horror/comedy movie in series of 6 haikus.
he haunts grade school dreams
stabs from the menacing dark
the Pencil Killer!
no one knows his name
tall, skinny, dressed in yellow
stench of fresh sawdust
you're trapped in your seat
hands Elmer'ed to the desktop
grim sharpener sounds
he stabs at your hands
embedding his evil lead
snapped off at the tip
just before you die
of painful lead poisoning
you wake up, sweating
was it just a dream?
you look down at your left hand
wounds of sooty grey
