From Film News BriefsWith this past weekend’s release of “The Last Airbender,” there have been a fair amount of epithets hurled in the approximate direction of writer-director-producer M. Night Shyamalan, along with the general pulling of hair and gnashing of teeth about how horrible the movie is and how, after a string of lousy films, this is, indubitably, the end of his career. Well, pardon us, but we’re going to have to call shenanigans on this one.

Yeah, yeah. This article is basically the internet version of what skirt length is to the fashion world, i.e. the thing to talk about when there's nothing to actually talk about. Someone on the internet exaggerated? Omigod! Call shenanigans!
What this article fails to address, even while mentioning M. Night's ego, is the high level of hatred he engenders with his bullshit. Doing a cameo as a reflection in cabinet glass, the entirety of Lady in the Water, all the other crap he pulls offscreen -- this is somebody that people want to see die a public, professional death. But no, of course his career isn't over. Duh. The Republican party didn't vanish in the wake of George W. Bush, either, although a lot of people said that was gonna happen.
