anyone that didn't know, a third installment in the "Starship Troopers" franchise is currently being made. Just like the terrible sequel "Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation," the new movie will go directly to DVD.
Surprisingly, there are a few good things about this third film, which is entitled "Starship Troopers: Marauder." It is written and directed by Edward Neumeier, who will be making his helming debut, but has previously written scripts for "Robocop" and the original "Starship Troopers."
In addition, Casper Van Dien is back to reprise his role as Johnny Rico, who is now a general and is forced to return to the military to fight the big bugs.
Even though the original had a health $105 million budget to play with, the third installment is working with a $20 million budget, which is pretty high for a straight-to-DVD release.
