The Warhols are gracing Boston with their presence two days before my birthday. I call that fine timing. Who's in?

All I know of the Dandy Warhols is the theme to Veronica Mars, which was a great tune. What's their other stuff like?
I'm definitely in for the Boston show!!
Landshark, they have a lot of good tunes, start with 13 Tales of New Bohemia.

I have yet to listen to them yet - all this new music pressure! Of course I'm probably in anyway, I don't like to miss stuff!
if memory serves me right, the dandys were a johnny sweatpants find, and jpx told me about them several years ago. they have a lot of different musical influences and experiment with different sounds. good band to see live. they have a lot of song clips on their website if you want to check them out.
i'll buy a block of tickets when they go on sale so anyone who wants from our gang can go. i do insist on getting as close to the stage as possible... too bad running freak isn't on the east coast anymore. she is adept at working her way forward through a crowd of music and beer-crazed dandy warhols fans.
Nice! San Francisco Warfield on a Saturday, can't beat that!
Landshark - their early stuff was heavily influenced by 60's psychadelia and the Velvet Underground as well as shoe-gaze type stuff like My Bloody Valentine. The album Come Down has heavily layered guitars and great harmonies. 13 Tales is their most cohesive and listenable. After that they started experimenting with the 80's much to my dismay (and JPX's approval) on Welcome to the Monkeyhouse.
Critics such as Pitchfork have consistently despised their entire body of work which of course makes me love them more.
AC, I'm definitely in.
Anyone else notice how spectacular the colors and angles are in that photograph.
yay whirlygirl! yay jpx! yay dcd!
dcd, if you really don't know their music at all i do recommend (no pressure) you listen a bit before september. if you can't get your hands on their music easily (cough octo cough jpx) i would be happy to burn you copies of all their cds. it would just take me a while....
Thanks for the offer AC! I'm pretty sure I already have the 13 Tales album, I asked my husband to get it last time we talked about TDW.
And since I am seeing Octo in July I will be sure to hit him up for some more!
