Even amphibious aliens manage to stir up controversy. George Lucas' CGI creation, intended for comic relief, isn't only painfully unfunny, but also quite possibly the first CGI-created racial caricature. The Jar Jar Binks hate parade spread far and wide, causing angered fans to go so far as to form the International Society for the Extermination of Jar Jar Binks, a webpage entitled ''Jar Jar Binks Must Die,'' and a song of the same title by Damn Nation. Lucas denied any racial overtones, but wisely kept Jar Jar far, far away from the screen for most of Episode II.
