Argument Over, Dogs Are Better Than Cats
2 Things:
- A Cat Would Have Eaten Him
- How big a dick do have to be to commit suicide with a two-year old kid?
(AP) -- A dog stood guard over her owner's body for up to six weeks after the man committed suicide on the remote northeastern Colorado plains, authorities said.
The body of 25-year-old Jake Baysinger of La Salle, Colorado, was found Sunday on the Pawnee National Grasslands about 75 miles northeast of Denver, Colorado. Cash, his German shepherd, was found beside him, thin and dehydrated but still alive. The dog had apparently survived by eating mice and rabbits, authorities said.
The Weld County coroner ruled Baysinger's death a suicide. The cause of death wasn't immediately determined but authorities found a gun nearby, the coroner's office said Tuesday.
"At least we know it's over now," said Baysinger's wife, Sara. "We'd been looking for my husband for six weeks, and this isn't how we wanted it to end. At least we can close this."
Baysinger was reported missing June 28. An extensive search failed to locate him, but Kip Konig, a rancher, saw the dog last weekend, went to investigate and discovered Baysinger's body and his pickup.
He said Cash kept running back to the pickup and jumping into the front seat.
"I got the sense she was trying to tell me where her master was," Konig said.
Cash was reunited Monday with Sara Baysinger and her 2-year-old son, Lane. She said her little boy is "very close to that dog" and happy to see her again.
Investigators said the dog probably kept coyotes away from the body.

Well, I don't disagree with the larger question, but if it weren't for the mice and rabbits that guy would've been dog food.
Poor pooch.
Yeah and you have to take dogs out for walks or else they'll pee on your carpet. This can't be stressed enough.
That is true, but there are drawbacks to having an animal that routinely shits in your house, litter box or not.
BTW Octo/Julie, I totally forgot about Harold until Octo posted a comment...I'm an insensitive ass. Sorry.
I hate litter boxes. I hate cleaning them. I always had outdoor cats and so the litter box world is new to me.
I love cats, but I will always say that dogs are better, and I could give you a hundred and ten reasons why if you asked.
Oh, that's okay Miko. I'm totally a dog person and it was Harold's dogness that I liked anyway.
You loutish buffoon, you.
Yeah, our remaining cat tests even my cat personness. She's the kind of cat that makes people hate cats. She sheds on everything, claws the furniture, and runs away from us. It's more like having a wild animal that you occasionally see around the house.
I'd take a cat over a dog under any circumstance!
JPX, how can you help crazy people when you yourself are so obviously deluded?
I just tuck my crazy away for a while, easy as pie!
Yeah seriously though, dogs are so very lame and needy. Most of them at least.
(Except for that old English sheep dog Margaret from my childhood neighborhood. My mother just casually told me a couple of days ago that the owners put her down because they were relocating and didn't feel like dealing. Sigh, the only dog I ever loved...)
But aside from sheep dogs - little dogs are annoying and needy as hell. "Good" dogs like golden retrievers are all indistinguishable suck-ups. And big angry dogs that can fuck shit up are just stressful to have around.
Nope. Cat please.
sorry i missed this discussion. me cat person. dogs are loyal and affectionate and trainable, but i am less allergic to cats and i love their oppositional, independent natures.
