Rhode Islanders have the day off today

Hooray, it's Victory over Japan Day! Yes, once again Rhode Islanders celebrate the death and destruction of the Japanese. According to Wikipedia, "The bombs killed as many as 140,000 people in Hiroshima and 80,000 in Nagasaki by the end of 1945, roughly half on the days of the bombings. Since then, thousands more have died from injuries or illness attributed to exposure to radiation released by the bombs. In both cities, the overwhelming majority of the dead were civilians."

It seems in poor taste to have a picnic today. Well it's raining anyway.

What's totally annoying is that I forgot about this stupidity and tried to drop off some stuff for Jake's school and of course none of the offices were open.

Here I am leaving nasty messages for people and they're on holiday! How much of an idiot do I feel like?
