Super Troopers

(2001) ***

OK meow! The fun-loving staties face off against the local police force in this Broken Lizard comedy. These Vermont state troopers combat boredom by pulling pranks on unsuspecting motorists and on each other, but things get (slightly) more serious when a marijuana smuggling ring is uncovered, and the boys are in danger of having their unit shut down if they don't behave. Super Troopers has many fun moments and classic practical jokes. My guess is that the movie is probably significantly enhanced by repeat viewing and/or herbal refreshment. Rumor has it there's a sequel on the way... Stonerthon 2010?

Damn, ac! You're kicking stonerthon ass!!! I told JSP that I wouldn't post anything tomorrow so the day can be used for Stonerthon 2008 reviews.

By the way, Whirlygirl has been really pushing a post-Horrorthon, Holidayathon. Get ready Planes, Trains and Automobiles, how I love thee...

Oh, I am SO in for Holidayathon!! I love Christmas movies. You should be psyched, JPX - there are some great Holiday musicals out there!

I love holiday movies! White Christmas, Miracle on 34th, etc. It's a Good Life is so overrated...

Hey docs, what does it say that my favorites are The Ref and Bad Santa?

jpx, if you mean it's a wonderful life, i may have to disagree with you there.

miko, i don't know, not having seen either of them. what do you think it says?

"what do you think it says?"

Ha!! LOL, I love AC. Now THAT was a classic therapy "turnaround".

You must see The Ref AC. I wouldn't even wait for Holidayathon, because it becomes better with repeat viewings.

i love both denis leary and kevin spacey, so if miko says the ref is a good movie, i will put it on netflix!

That's so funny, I indeed meant "Wonderful" Life. I always start that film with enthusiasm but find myself getting bored during the middle. Hmm, it sounds like we can have a good debate this holiday season...

I'm so excited that you guys are into Holidaython. When I first brought it up JPX said it would be to tiring after Horrorthon, which may be true, so we could do Holidaython for just a week or two. I’m really pushing for it because I won’t be able to participate in Horrorthon this year. I’m signed up for five grad classes that are going to kick my butt. I’ll certainly watch some horror films but I’ll only be able to write one review maybe two. It’s very saddening.

JPX, I can't believe you did it again. This is not the first, or second, or even third time that JPX has mistakenly called "It's a wonderful Life” "It's a Good Life," and I still laugh every time he does.

I've never seen The Ref but I love Bad Santa.
