Whirlygirl’s Print from Block Island Art Festival

I love this print, and it’s very different from what you typically find at an art festival, which predominantly is flowers and boats, etc., but not boobs. The photographer said she photographed these protesters in New York shortly after 9/11. Unfortunately, the image scanned in a little blurry because it is matted so I couldn’t put the face of the print directly on the glass.

Do you know what specifically they were protesting?

I found this print first and generaously pointed it out to Whirlygirl. I felt that she should purchase it because of color and theme. Aw hell, I just wanted her to get it because there are boobs, boobs, and boobs, three sets.

I'm not sure what they were protesting. I'm going to have to research this more.

JPX of course spotted it because of the boobs. I like the print partly because of the bare skin as well, but not in the same way JPX does.

What really struck me about the photographer was that none of her other images remotely resembled this one. In fact, I really didn't care for the others.

Aw, they're cheating. They're all wearing flesh-colored briefs. If you're going to flash skin in Times Square, go for it!

I wonder if the photographer got it wrong about the protest-y nature of what she saw. It looks like an art piece. It's the fact that they're sitting on acrylic boxes that makes me say that.

She was a scattered woman, Octo, so I wouldn’t doubt that for a second. I haven’t had a chance to look into it yet, but I will get to the origins of this photo.
