WTF?! West Virginia is Cool...

Miko will never learn. Preconceived notions just keep getting proven false as he gets older, but he keeps making 'em.

Drove down to West Virginia from Pittsburgh today, after a week of making Hillbilly jokes about it.

The drive was gorgeous, the speed limit in WV is 70 (that's just cool), the people at the restaurants were incredibly nice, and the hotel here is the nicest I have stayed in since the Hilton in San Fran.

Life is weird.

Recently a friend of mine who had lived in the South half her life told me why they're all so nice: they're completely caffeinated from drinking iced tea all the time.

Just be sure to check out if you start hearing banjo music.

Funny you should mention that, DCD. I'm actually reading Deliverance and it's excellent! I picked up and 1975 paperback at a church book sale for a quarter, woo-hoo for cheap books! The story is riveting and I haven't been able to put it down.

Oh, you silly children don't know your Miko at all, do you?

The other reason WV is cool, is they recognize my PA Concealed Carry Permit.

So bring on the banjo people, we'll see who squeals like a pig...

I didn't find Southerners to be all that nice. But she ain't kidding about the sweet tea.

I concur that WV is kickass, miko. I've gone white water rafting there a few times, and the drive through Charleston is always beautiful.
