Twisted Sister

Since Whirly has been sharing her wonderful pics I thought I might share a pic I altered a bit.
I work at Bay View Academy, for those who are not from this area this is a private all girl Catholic school. This one hallway has always struck me as being quite eerie. I snapped several pictures of it but this one blurred pic really captured the essence it.
I added the ghostly nun after hearing tales from some of the maintenance guys about the nuns roaming the hallways late at night in their long nightgowns & habits. They really creeped the guys out.

I love that we have, not one, but two talented Horrorthon photographers who are into creepy imagery. Yay Horrorthon women! I dig the picture, Catfreeek, it combines my love of horror and my fear of all things Catholic, especially nuns, woo-hoo!

Very cool, Cat Freeek! Everything works really well together. I love the pale colors, graininess, and the vignetting in the corners. I also like the translucent vertical line that appears down the front of the nun, which follows the repeating vertical lines running down the hallway.

Is the nun from Bay View?

Whirly, the nun was a stock photo I got from a site I use, I whited out her eyes to make her look more creepy. I didn't add any of the light flashes, they appeared in the photo. Including the weird little dots of light that are right over the nun's head. Kinda strange they didn't appear in any of my other photo's of this hallway.

JPX, nun's creep me out too and I work with them. They don't wear the habits during the school day anymore so they are considerably less intimidating.

On a funny note, there are a pair of twin nuns at the school. They look just like the Monty Python guys when they dress up like women. It's so hard not to laugh when you see them.

Catfreeek, I totally thought you were on the West Coast! I had no idea you were at Bay View. Not that I have any connection to Bay View - just know the name.

Love this crazy pic. I love a good Nun sighting. In general life I find that I don't see them much, so whenever I do see one I feel obligated to say out loud, "NUN!"

Octo had an apartment in NYC for awhile that looked down on the back garden of a - well, not sure if it was an actual nunnery or nuns just lived there. We had a few good nun sightings there.

DCD-true story, I once accompanied my ex husband to an AA meeting and there was a nun up front speking about how she would get drunk off the sacramental wine.

Another funny nun tale, last year one of the sisters had a big shindig celebrating her 50 years of being a nun (more like 50 years of gettin' none) and these holy ladies drank 6 cases of wine and were slow dancing with each other. It was hysterical!

Seeing as how I plan to send my daughter to a convent on a mountaintop in Switzerland upon her 11th birthday, I feel odd adding any negative feelings about them...

So I will just say, I really dig this picture. It doesn't scream "Photoshop" at all, you could easily convince me she was there.
Hallways are freaky. Every time I arrive at a hotel late at night, and look down the long hallway before entering my room, I am surprised when I don't see something down the other end staring at me...I wonder if people thought they were creepy prior to The Shining?

(So how many talented photo-chicks does this make for Horrorthon now? AC, can you secretly take great photos too?)

I just walked by a group of creepy nuns on my street followed bywhat looked to be the priest from the exorcist. the nuns saw me staring at them so I gave them my biggest smile.

Last year we were on a creepy nun horror movie kick, I think we watched 3 or for of them in a row. Nuns are great fun.

Wonder what those nuns were up to Whirly. It's like the priest had his bitches in tow.

sorry to disappoint miko! when it comes to the visual and performing arts it's safe to say i'm the least talented person on the blog. i am an appreciative audience however. :)

whirly and catfreeek, your respectively creepy approaches to photography would make for a hell of a side-by-side gallery exhibition.
