In case there's any ambiguity concerning my "Catholic church victim" claim, I mean that O'Connor was a very early advocate for investigating pedophilia in the Catholic church. She ripped up a picture of the Pope on TV because she wanted the world to pay attention to the rape of children all over the world. This essentially ended her career. But, decades later, it's turning out that everything she said (and more) was totally true. So here's to Sinead O'Connor who spoke truth to power and paid the ultimate price of having her career removed.
