X-Men: Days Of Future Past Set Photo Pairs Wolverine And Beast Back In 1973

From cinemablend, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine has already rubbed shoulders with the cast of X-Men: First Class - though it was an extremely brief moment and it didn't exactly go so well. One of the best moments of Matthew Vaughn's period superhero film featured Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and Professor X (James McAvoy) trying to recruit Wolverine to their cause in a bar. His response? "Go fuck yourself." But it would appear that ties between the men have changed in the years between First Class and the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past, because, as you can see in the image above, Logan is now palling around with Nicholas Hoult's young Beast.

As he has been doing regularly, director Bryan Singer released the above set photo on hisTwitter account, but this one raises more questions than most. The image came along with the caption "Welcome to 1973. @RealHughJackman @NicholasHoult #XMen #DaysOfFuturePast" so could that be a suggestion that Wolverine is the time traveler? How is Beast looking like a normal human again when in the last film we saw him have a reaction to his "cure" and becomeblue and fuzzy? If Wolverine is in the X-Mansion in 1973, does that mean he actually met Professor X long before the events of 2000's X-Men? It will be fascinating to see what this movie does to the timeline of X-Men movies.

Partially set after the events of X-Men: The Last StandX-Men: Days of Future Past finds mutants like Professor X (Sir Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Sir Ian McKellen), Wolverine (Jackman), Rogue (Anna Paquin), Iceman (Shawn Ashmore), Storm (Halle Berry), Kitty Pryde (Ellen Page) and Colossus (Daniel Cudmore) on the run in an apocalyptic future where giant robots called Sentinels are used to hunt, capture and kill mutants. In order to try and stop the horrible Sentinels from being created, the mutants work together to send one of their own back in time to 1973, where they run into the younger Professor X and Magneto (McAvoy and Fassbender) as well as Beast (Hoult) and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence). New additions to the franchise include Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Booboo Stewart and Fan Bing Bing.
